Finished-Up Friday?

One day removed….  Well, computer issues and internet issues, combined with an all-day trip with the kids, conspired to keep me from posting yesterday.  I don’t have anything of much consequence to share, I suppose, but I didn’t want to blow this off completely!

This week’s FO was finished early Friday morning — talk about under-the-wire!  After hearing that my friend M was getting so much use out of her Fetching mitts, I decided to give it a go with a spare ball of yarn I had floating around.  Unfortunately, it wasn’t *quite* enough, so I finished in a different color.  I’m not  enamored of the picot bind off.  I think that I must have worked it too loosely (although, I didn’t work it loose on purpose).  The top of the finger opening tries to flop back over itself, instead of staying up over my bottom knuckles.  However, I did wear them all day yesterday, and was surprised at how much they really did keep my hands warm!  I may pull out the top gray rows, and just bind off normally instead of working the final cable, and use the little bit of leftover magenta rows to rework the thumb, so they’re all one color.  I don’t mind the color change, but I really dislike the top being so loose, for me.  I will make these again, perhaps many pairs and many variations — they seem so useful for my poor cold fingers!
