how i knit to stay sane

I was scheduled to teach a class tonight at Michael’s.  No one signed up for it, though, and while I’m a little disappointed about that, I really enjoyed the sanctioned time out.  I bought a new pattern booklet — one based on Bernat’s Naturals brands.  I really love some of the drapey fabrics shown, and am really impressed with those yarns.  They all have a varying amount of acrylic in them, but really hold the character of the “host fiber”.  I’ve used the alpaca blend, and I’m really excited to try the soy, cashmere, and bamboo blends.  I haven’t tried any of the patterns yet (I know — I’m slacking!  I’ve had the book for almost 2 hours already!  🙂 )

While I was shopping, I met a fellow Raveler, and loved chatting about our little community there.  We had a quick playing-with-yarn session, and chatted a bit, and then I finally took care of another chore I’ve needed to do, but have been putting off — ordering business cards!  I’m a little bit *yikes* because it makes it feel so serious!  But I’ve had a few friends comment that they’d pass out cards for me — avid knitters themselves, who just don’t have the time or inclination to teach.  They’ll also be displayed at the Michael’s, and heaven knows I manage to work yarn into every discussion I have, so here’s one more prop for me.  ;
