Wishful tinking

How I wish that was a typo. Last night, I already realized that I wasn’t going to finish — nay, I still had about 30 rows left. But, as I finished the last row before laying down the needles for the night, I realized there was an error. I “fixed” it as best I could, to see how it would look, but in lace, it just didn’t look good. I doubt anyone else would have noticed without careful scrutiny, but I’ve put so many hours into this project, I just didn’t see the point in it not being as good as I could make it. I slept on it, and decided this morning that I was, indeed, strong enough to tink back and fix the offending stitches. In happy reward, it didn’t take nearly as long as I thought it would, and I am well past that point now. I am getting ready to watch a movie with the hubby, and head into those last 24 rows. I have no illusions that I will finish tonight, either. Tonight is about peaceful knitting, good company, and a hot cup of Indian spiced chai.
